They’re what the PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about. And no, you don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed so you can go straight into it after the PADI Open Water Diver course. The PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so you can become more comfortable in the water.

PADI - Advanced Open Water Diver course

COURSE INFORMATION:

The knowledge and skills you get in the PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver course vary with your interest and the adventures you have, but include:

  • Practical aspects of deep diving
  • Physiological effects of deeper scuba diving
  • More ways to use your underwater compass
  • How to navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks

And time and much, much more, depending on the Adventure Dives you choose.

This PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver course consists of a total of 5 Papagayo training dives which will include a Deep Dive between 60ft (18m) and 100ft (30m) and a Navigation Dive. This course takes 2 days.

The selection of the remaining three dives is up to you and include:

  • AWARE-Fish Identification
  • Boat Diving
  • Drift Diving
  • Multilevel and Computer diving
  • Nitrox (additional fee for nitrox tank)
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Underwater Photography (with own camera)
  • Wreck Diving

TO ENROLL:

For the PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver course (or Junior PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver course), you must be 12 years old or older and verify a PADI Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another training organization). You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. A medical questionnaire has to be completed and might indicate a contraindication to check with your doctor.

GETTING STARTET:

All of our PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver courses are private or semi private. We can start every day you want us to. Stop by at our dive shop to enroll in the course, get your materials and start reading the book. Your PADI Instructor will schedule time with you to, check your progress and make sure you understand important scuba diving information.

PADI eLEARNING:

If you prefer, you can do your theoretical part any time before your arrival in Costa Rica. So you can spend more time in the water. You can easily do this at any time by participating in the PADI eLearning program. If you have questions, you can always contact us. We look forward to diving with you!

EQUIPMENT:

PADI – Advanced Open Water Diver course: Beyond using basic scuba equipment, you’ll need a compass and dive knife or dive tool. You’ll also use specialized gear depending on the Adventure Dives you choose. Your PADI Instructor will explain the equipment that you need and may suggest additional gear.
