PADI - OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. The full Open Water Certification will allow you to dive any where in the world to a maximum depth of 60ft/18m without the assistance of a PADI professional.
COURSE INFORMATION:
This course teaches student divers the fundamental knowledge and skills they need to dive with a buddy, independent of supervision.
The PADI – Open Water Diver Course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge Development (online, home study ) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
- On two days you will do 4 Open Water Dives from the boat to review your skills and explore our underwater world with your PADI dive instructor!
- It takes only 3 days to complete.

TO ENROLL:
For the PADI – Open Water Diver Course (or Junior PADI – Open Water Diver Course), you must be 10 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. A medical questionnaire has to be completed and might indicate a contraindication to check with your doctor. No prior experience with scuba diving is required.
GETTING STARTET:
All of our PADI – Open Water Diver Courses are private or semi private. We can start every day you want us to. Stop by at our dive shop to enroll in the course, get your materials and start reading the book and watching the video. Your PADI Instructor will schedule time with you to check your progress and make sure you understand important scuba diving information.
PADI eLEARNING:
If you prefer, you can do your theoretical part any time before your arrival in Costa Rica. So you can spend more time in the water. You can easily do this at any time by participating in the PADI eLearning program. If you have questions, you can always contact us. We look forward to diving with you!
EQUIPMENT:
In the PADI – Open Water Diver Course, you learn to use basic scuba gear, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device (BCD) and a tank. The equipment you wear varies, depending upon whether you’re diving in tropical, temperate or cold water.
