Bat Islands are a world class dive location for advanced divers in Costa Rica. One of the highlights are the face to face encounters with massive bull-sharks, up to 12ft/3.5m. Located around 30 miles/45 km north-west from Playas del Coco, at the most outward west-tip of the Santa Rosa National Park. Our boat takes you there in about 1 hour!

Maximum depths varies from site to site ranging from 60ft (18m) to 130 ft (35m). Visibility is about 18 to 100 ft/6 to 30m. All of our dive guides are computerized to maximize your bottom time. If you are ready for the thrill and adrenaline rush of some of the hottest diving in Central America, and are searching for new pathways into the world of underwater adventure, you owe it to yourself to drop by and join us at Deep Blue Diving. Once you get underwater, chances are you won’t want to leave!

Our dive trips consist of three dives. For the Bat Islands trips the boat leaves at 7:15 am and is usually back at around 3:00 pm.

As well we offer beach pickups by boat from the following Resorts: RIU Guanacaste,  Bosque del Mar, Occidental Papagayo, El Mangroove, Casa Conde del Mar, Secrets Papagayo, Andaz Peninsula Papagayo and Four Seasons.

You’ll reach the dive sites with one of our four diveboats, the Lady Blue; (14 divers), Colonia Claudia; (13 divers), Novesia; (9 divers), Marisol; (6 divers). Each boat is equipped with sunroof, marine radio, gps, oxygen kit, first aid kit and a cooler full of drinks and fresh fruits!

Bat IslandsBajo Negro – Black Rock (30-120ft)

This beautifully landscaped pinnacle is covered with corals and sponges. As we encircle the pinnacle from bottom to top, we encounter large schools of fish and rays on our way towards the surface. Also many times you have the chance to see flying manta rays
