DIVE SITES AROUND PLAYAS DEL COCO
We are happy to have so many great dive sites around Playas del Coco and they are just a short boat ride away. Most of the Papagayo dive sites accommodate all levels of experience from beginners to advanced divers. For more advanced diving we offer diving tours to Catalina Islands (CATs) and Bat Islands (BATs) Islas Murciélagos. Maximum depths varies from site to site ranging from 30ft (10m) to 120 ft (35m). All of our dive guides are computerized to maximize your bottom time. PAPAGAYO DIVE SITES
There are more than 20 Papagayo dive sites close to Playas del Coco which are all within a 10 to 20 minute boat ride away, including the most popular ones such as Punta Argentina, Tortuga, Virador and Cabeza de Mono (Monkeys Head). The maximum depths varies from site to site ranging from 30ft (10m) to 100 ft (30m). Most of the Papagayo dive sites accommodate all levels of experience from beginners to advanced divers.
ISLAS CATALINAS – CATALINA ISLANDS
When you talk about diving in Costa Rica, Catalina Island is a very good chance to dive with the Pacific Giant Mantas. The Islands are about 20 miles/30 km south of Playas del Coco. Our boat will take you there in less than an hour! These dive sites are more advanced due to surge, stronger currents and rougher surface conditions.
ISLAS MURCIÉLAGOS – BAT ISLANDS
Bat Islands are a world class dive location for advanced divers in Costa Rica. One of the highlights are the face to face encounters with massive bull-sharks, up to 12ft/3.5m. Located around 30 miles/45 km north-west from Playas del Coco, at the most outward west-tip of the Santa Rosa National Park. Our boat takes you there in about 1 hour!
